FYUGP Programme

TKMM College, Nangiarkulangara, Introduces a Revolutionary Four-Year Undergraduate Programme (FYUGP) for 2024-25 TKMM College, Nangiarkulangara, is proud to announce the launch of its new Four-Year Undergraduate Programme (FYUGP) for the academic year 2024-25. This innovative programme is designed to provide students with a holistic and dynamic educational experience, equipping them with the knowledge and skills necessary to excel in today’s ever-evolving world.

Distinct Pathways for Tailored Academic Goals

The FYUGP offers students the flexibility to choose from three unique pathways, each tailored to meet diverse academic aspirations:

• 3-Year UG Degree: Students who complete three years of study will be awarded a UG Degree in their chosen discipline.

• 4-Year UG Degree (Honours): A comprehensive four-year programme culminating in an Honours Degree, complete with a graduate project or dissertation in the student’s major discipline.

• 4-Year UG Degree (Honours with Research): For research enthusiasts, this pathway includes a significant research project, offering 12 credits, and is open to students achieving at least 75% in their graduation up to the 6th semester (subject to University Regulations).

Programme Highlights

1. Major Component Students gain deep knowledge in their chosen field, fostering expertise and specialization, whether in humanities, sciences, social sciences, or other disciplines.
2. Minor Component Complementing the major, these courses offer students the flexibility to explore interdisciplinary topics or delve deeper into niche areas of their field.
3. Ability Enhancement Courses (AEC) AECs focus on developing linguistic proficiency in Modern Indian Languages (MIL) and English, alongside critical reading and academic writing skills.
4. Multi-disciplinary Courses (MDC) Broadening students’ horizons, these courses traverse traditional boundaries, encompassing arts, science, commerce, and social sciences.
5. Skill Enhancement Courses (SEC) Emphasizing 21st-century skills—Creativity, Critical Thinking, Communication, and Collaboration (4Cs)—SECs empower students to apply knowledge practically while embracing modern technologies.
6. Value Added Courses (VAC) Focused on personal growth, VACs enhance emotional intelligence, self-awareness, and professional confidence, preparing students for life’s challenges.
7. Summer Internship/Apprenticeship Real-world learning opportunities through internships and apprenticeships bridge classroom education with professional practice, enhancing industry readiness.
8. Research Project/Dissertation For Honours with Research students, the programme includes advanced research opportunities under expert guidance, with the potential for publications and patents.
