B.Sc. Zoology course offers an amalgamation of understanding animal world from outside as well as at molecular level. It provides an opportunity for comprehensive study of Animal Biodiversity, Physiology, Biochemistry, Cell and Molecular Biology, Biotechnology, Ecology and Environment Management. A faculty section of Zoology commenced functioning on the campus with the inauguration of the college in 1964. An independent department was established in the year 1979, when BSc Zoology commenced in the college as the second degree course. The department also provides skill enhancement in mushroom culture and ornamental fish culture. Here classroom teaching is augmented with regular seminars, workshops and educational excursions to various research institutes and wild life sanctuaries to provide in-depth knowledge, hands-on training and interaction with eminent scientists. Faculty members are dedicated and highly qualified in their respective fields of specialization and play an instrumental role in shaping the career of the students by their expert guidance. One faculty member is a TARE fellow from 2019 onwards.
