The Department of Malayalam began its journey in the college from its inception as an additional language course. Four veterans in the teaching field, Mr. Jayachandran, Mr. Sasidharan, Smt. Sudhamony and Smt. K Jalaja, have been the part of the department. The department have been engaging all first and second year undergraduate students.
The department is properly maintaining a department library which is only for reference purpose. Two teachers Smt. K V Lekha and Sri V Abhilash, have been working in the department currently.

TKMM College, Nagiarkulangara is named after the great freedom fighter and social reformer Sri.T.K.Madhavan, one of the most acclaimed leaders of Vaikkam Sathyagraha. Our college is established in the year 1968.Hon. Chief Minister of Kerala Sri. R.Sankar has layed the foundation. He is also the founder manager of all SN Colleges in Kerala.
