Internal Quality Assurance Cell




The IQAC of the college is functioning to assure quality enhancement in academic and administrative activities of the college. IQAC regularly proposes master plans for every academic year to Principal and college council. The well execution of master plans subject to the approval from College council and the subsequent activities in each department, clubs and committees result into prepare annual quality assurance report (AQAR) for submitting to the NAAC. IQAC prepare AQAR report for each academic year and upload in NAAC portal in stipulated time. In order to document the daily major events in college, a blog addressed http://blogtkmmc.blogspot.com/ is being operated by IQAC, which is continued to be functioning well since 2018.

Some of the quality initiatives…

  1. Discussion of daft master plan for 2018-19 was scheduled from 3/7/2018 to 10/7/2018 (date of IQAC meeting 2/7/18).  As per the recommendations in master plan, the various clubs and committees could prepare their action plan for 2018-19 and further implemented such activities. No. of participants: 20 faculty members
  2. IQAC decided to initiate a web portal in the college website to document the day to day activities in the college (date of IQAC meeting 9/9/2018). A discussion regarding this was initiated from 10/9/2018 to 21/09/2018, and finally decided to launch an official blog addressed:  (http://blogtkmmc.blogspot.com/). It is now regularly functioning under the auspices of IQAC and College council. Also redesigned the college website addressed: (http://www.tkmmcollege.org/). No. of participants: 20 faculty members.
  3.  IQAC decided to ask an interim report and submission of revised action plan for each club and committees to speed up the activities (date of IQAC meeting 5/11/2018). For this a discussion was initiated with club/committee coordinators from 10/11/2018 to 21/11/2018 for the submission of interim report, discussion on it , revised action plan and schedule of the activities to be done).
  4. Preparation of Master plan for 2019-20 was decided to be initiated by IQAC (date of IQAC meeting:  25/03/2019). A series of meetings and discussions were conducted from 25/03/2019 to 29/03/2019 with some 20 faculty members sitting.
  5. During the lock down period, in association with various departments, IQAC has organized national and International webinars in Google meet platform using GSUIT. At a time 250 participants were joined in various webinars. There was a face book live streaming featured for International webinar for Raman spectroscopy jointly coordinated by IQAC and department of Physics, which marked 1k views in face book. A technical committee was constituted for the smooth conduct of the programme including IQAC members and representatives from various departments.
  6. Discussion for the preparation of daft master plan for 2019-20 was scheduled from 23/07/2019 to 10/08/2019 (date of IQAC meeting 23/07/19).  As per the recommendations in master plan, the various clubs and committees could prepare their action plan for 2019-20 and further implemented such activities. No. of participants: 15
  7. IQAC decided to initiate a social media page to reach the previously initiated web portal in the college website to document the day to day activities in the college. (date of IQAC meeting  23/07/2019). A discussion regarding this was imitated from 23/07/2019 to 30/07/2019, and finally decided to launch an social media page as per the circular from MHRD (FB page, TKMM College, Nangiarkulangara). Dr. Jasmine Anand, Assistant Professor, Department of Zoology was elected as the Social Media Champion.  The contents of our official blog addressed:  (http://blogtkmmc.blogspot.com/) was then started sharing through FB page for wider viewership of our extension activities. It is now regularly functioning under the auspices of IQAC and College council. No. of participants: 5 faculty members for coordinating
  8. The club/committees / department associations were asked to submit the interim report of activities for the academic year 2019-2020 and the schedule of actions to be initiated (date of IQAC meeting 26/11/2019).
  9. IQAC initiated measures to guide teachers for availing their promotions/placements as per PBAS based CAS recommendations in UGC regulations 2010 and 2018, whichever is applicable. For this a career advancement class was conducted for the benefit of teachers. Also, internal assessment for promotion/placement for teachers was initiated by IQAC and the promotion/placement of each teaching faculty is documented. The date of IQAC meeting for taking this decision was 14/01/2020. In follow ups, as per CAS scheme the screening of teachers were successfully monitored by IAC during each academic year in presence of Principal. HODs and the expert committee members.
  10. IQAC made initiative for applying NSQF short term courses and signing MoU with collaborating institutions.
  11. IQAC made initiative to conduct semester wise comprehensive result analysis process immediately after semester result is published.
  12. IQAC made initiative to prepare monthly reports.
  13.  IQAC made initiative to conduct internal academic audit.
  14. IQAC made initiative to switch the website domain to ac. in (Dr. Sreeja V. , Assistant Professor, Department of Chemistry  has given charge as website coordinator)
  15. IQAC took initiatives to organize online teaching learning process and club activities during the pandemic period
  16.  Schedule of actions to be taken for clubs, committees and department associations were instructed
  17. Stream lined and documented UG and PG admission.
  18. Timely e-documented the major activities conducted by various departments, clubs and committees through college blog.
  19. Systematically collected the annual report from various departments, clubs and committees by circulating a template.
  20. Year wise master plans, meeting minutes and action taken reports were maintained.
  21. Suggested recommendations to implement management implement system for academic and administrative automations.
